Every new student who takes provisional / final admission to any program, gets to participate in this unique mentorship program. Newly enrolled students gets mentoring from SSOU faculty through following activities -
- Webinars on foundation and soft skill courses
- Meetings and interaction for solving queries
- Hand-holding till regular sessions begin
- Participation in various university activities till sessions begin
Every new student is assigned a faculty member as his / her mentor. The Mentorship Kit will have contact details of the mentor.
Advantages of Mentorship Program
- New students get to network with faculty and fellow students
- Every program has certain number of foundation subjects (courses) that start with the first semester. The webinars in Mentorship Program will introduce many of these foundation subjects before semester begins.
- Every student is assigned a mentor who may continue even after the semester begins. New students get to discuss their queries or concerns with the mentor and on-boarding becomes easier.
- New students also get to interact with existing students by participating in university activities during the period of Mentorship Program.
- SSOU also has its student portal for all its regular students. By attending webinars, new students get time to get used to the portal and online learning.
Next Steps
- After you have confirmed your provisional admission, you are allotted a faculty mentor. His / her name and contact details are shared with you along with this handbook.
- You will receive an email about the schedule of webinars and other activities frequently. The email address will be the same that you have entered in the admission form.
- This information is also available in your Registration Login (Apply Page).
- Keep checking the schedule and login at the webinar time. All webinars will be made available in archive mode on request in your Registration Login.
