Convocation

The Convocation Ceremony is the University's prestigious academic event held to formally confer Degrees, Diplomas, and other academic awards upon students who have successfully completed their respective programmes. The University normally conducts the Convocation at least once in an academic year, in accordance with the provisions of the University Statutes.

Issuance of Certificates

Students who successfully complete all programme requirements and earn the prescribed academic credits shall be eligible for the award of the Degree.
A Provisional Degree Certificate may be issued after the declaration of results, subject to University regulations and on the student's request.
The Original Degree Certificate shall be formally awarded during the Convocation Ceremony.
The University may issue bilingual Degree Certificates (English and Marathi) as per the applicable University norms.

Eligibility & Registration

To participate in the Convocation Ceremony, a student must:

Successfully complete all academic and examination requirements of the programme.
Be declared eligible by the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
Complete the online Convocation Registration within the prescribed timeline.
Pay the prescribed Convocation Fee, if applicable.

The Convocation notification, schedule, registration dates, and related instructions will be published on the University Website and Student Portal.

Note: On-the-spot registration will not be permitted.

Dress Code & Ceremony Guidelines

Each graduating student will be provided with a Convocation Uparana (Ceremonial Stole) on the day of the Convocation Ceremony. The Uparana is a complimentary ceremonial item presented as a memento of this significant academic milestone. Students may retain the Uparana and take it home after the ceremony; it is not required to be returned to the University.
Students shall wear formal or traditional attire (white/off-white/light- colored Indian traditional wear or formal Western attire).
Formal footwear is mandatory. Casual footwear or slippers are not permitted.
Students must report to the venue at least two hours before the commencement of the ceremony.
Late entry may not be permitted after the commencement of the ceremony.
Students are expected to maintain discipline and follow all instructions issued by the University authorities.
Mobile phones should remain on silent mode throughout the ceremony.
Cheering, whistling, or any behaviour that disrupts the decorum of the ceremony is strictly prohibited.
Degrees will be conferred on stage as per the official sequence announced by the University.

Guest Information

Each graduating student may be permitted to invite up to two guests, subject to the University's notification and venue capacity.
Guests must be seated before the commencement of the ceremony and are expected to maintain proper decorum throughout the event.
Any misconduct by students or guests may result in disciplinary action.

Students Unable to Attend

Students who are unable to attend the Convocation Ceremony may collect their Original Degree Certificate later by following the procedure notified by the University through the respective School/Department or the Examination Department.

Important Notes

The University normally conducts the Convocation Ceremony at least once in every academic year for the conferment of Degrees, Diplomas, and other academic awards.
If required, the University may organize additional Convocation Ceremonies or Degree Award Functions during the year. Such information will be communicated through the University Website and Student Portal.
The University reserves the right to modify the Convocation schedule, venue, registration process, fee, or any related guidelines whenever necessary. Any such changes will be notified through the official communication channels of the University.
