Symbiosis skills and Professional University wins grand prize in “MILITARY ROBOTICS AND AI COMPETITION, 2020”

Students of Final year Mechatronics Poorvi Sidhapura and Ayushi Arora Won Gold Medal,Om Gaikwad and the team gets silver in India Skills 2021, Regional Competition – West for Maharashtra.
Students of Final Year Mechatronics Poorvi Siddhapura and Ayushi Arora won the Gold Medal, Om Gaikwad and the team gets Silver in India Skills 2021, Regional Competition – West for Maharashtra.Mobile Robotics-West Regional Competition was conducted by India Skills in Gandhinagar Gujarat, from 29th October-1st November. Teams from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa were competing in west region. Two teams were selected in Mobile Robotics for India Skills Nationals Level competition to be held in December 2021.

Ayushi Arora and Poorvi Sidhapura, Students of TY Mechatronics Won Silver Medal at Maharashtra State Skill Competition, 2021
Ayushi Arora and Poorvi Sidhapura students of TY Mechatronics won the Silver Medal at Maharashtra State Skill competition, 2021 in the skill ‘Mobile Robotics’ held from 3rd to 5th September,2021 organized by Maharashtra State Skill Development Society. The state level competition of Mobile Robotics trade was followed by a training period of 7 days with the trainers of HunarPro Skilling. The closing ceremony of the event was held in Mumbai on 5th September, 2021, and the team was honored by the hands of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Nawab Malik Ji. The team will represent Maharashtra in Regional Competition to be held by the end of October in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Team Phoenix Racing of SSPU secured All India Rank 12th in SAE EFFICYCLE 2021

Team Phoenix Racing of SSPU has secured All India Rank 12th in Advance Hybrid Electric format of SAE EFFICYCLE 2021. The event gives participants the challenge of conceptualizing and designing a 3-wheeled, 2-seater vehicle with a fully electric power train. The competition is called the participation of undergraduate and graduate engineering students from institutes and universities across the country. Faculty advisor Prof. Yogendra Jain guided the students in the competition.

Students of Mechatronics Engineering of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University havTOYCATHON, 2021
Toycathon 2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative brought up to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize novel Toy and Games which are based on Bhartiya civilization, history, culture, mythology, ethos and aspirations of today’s generation. The competition was open to school going, college going students as well as professionals. Shravan Ambudkar, Final year mechatronics student along with other college students designed musical app for learning concepts. The team “Surification” was selected for the Toycathon 2021, Grand Finale event during June, 2021 organised as a virtual online hackathon.

Idea – To inculcate conceptual learning through music

This is an edutainment app “SURICTIONARY” built for deeper understanding and more retention, it is based on the concept of Indian culture where music was used to make things happen, here music is used to retain the concepts.
e secured the championship trophy in MILBOTICS-2020, Robotics & AI Competition. This was a national level competition, hosted and organised by the prestigious College of Military Engineering, Pune, the Army Design Bureau and India First Robotics, the competition was a first of its kind in India. Problem statements pertaining to two different military problems in Robotics and AI were given to 80 teams all over India amongst which 7 finalists competed head to head on 17th and 18th Jan 2020 with the task of making a Grenade Lobbing Robot with all-terrain mobility.The range of the robot fire was given to be 30m but the SSOU team’s prototype   has a capability to manage a fire range of 400m. The team of 5, Team Captain Jeet Kanaskar, and members Om Deshmukh, Geetesh Nandre, Pradhnesh Hagawne, Atharva Ghodekar along with staff coordinators Dr. Vaijayanti Deshpande, Sandeep Hirve, Sachin Gawade and Tukaram Kavthekar  exhibited their talent and ingenuity and with the financial  support of SSPU ,the team persevered to go on and win the grand prize presented by Deputy Chief of Army staff Lt General S.S. Hasabnis, Commandant and all ranks of College of Military Engineering, Pune and were given a cash prize of RS 20,000.Pro-Chancellor Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajay Fulambarkar and Dr Santosh Sonavane Director- School of Mechatronics congratulated the students on their success.

Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon, 2020 at SSPU

Smart India Hackathon, 2020 is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mind-set of problem solving. Internal Hackathon at SSOU on 18th January, 2020 aimed at the selection of best teams in each edition viz. software edition and hardware edition. For this purpose jury members from different industries were invited and in their esteem presence and guidance 7 teams were shortlisted (5 for software + 2 for hardware edition). . The event started by a wonderful speech by Mr. Anurag Shukla, Senior Manager, DASSAULT SYSTEMES SOLIDWORKS  on importance of Idea generation and innovation and Mr. Suryakant Katti, B.E. Solutions, focused on ways and requirement of dedicated efforts for applying the ideas. Pranjal Doshi from TY Mech and his team got selected for Grand Finale to be held in the month of July 2020 at Gandhi Nagar.

Participation in “First Tech Challenge Championship Tournament”

Four teams (30 Students ) of Diploma in Manufacturing Excellence of SSOU, had participated in First Tech Challenge championship tournament, held on 1st – 2nd Feb.2020 at Balewadi stadium. One of the group was nominated for “The Best performer in Judge’s Round”. 6 Students of Mechatronics Engineering guided the participants for this completion and they played role of student mentors during this event. Dr. Vaijayanti Deshpande and Prof. Manisha Daund from School of Mechatronics were faculty mentor for this event.

“Team Tyche” of Symbiosis Skill and Professional University bagged first prize of Rs.1,00,000/

“Team Tyche” of Symbiosis Skill and Professional University bagged first prize of Rs.1,00,000/- in Smart India Hackathon-2020 for the project of “Ministry of Petroleum”, Government of India. The Problem Statement was “Technological advances for Retail Outlets”. Team leader was Pranjal Doshi student of B. Tech Mechatronics and other members were from data Science. They developed the application which can map all the retail outlets on Google Map and can get connected to fuel tank sensor which will generate an automated message and path may pop up regarding the nearest fuel station with details of fuel prices and the total fuel to be top up for covering the remaining distance if the fuel level drops a particular level. They designed an application to recommend when to fuel the vehicle and which petrol pump to use. Provide facility to provide ratings to the fuel station and recommend fuel station based on the ratings.
