In line with the emphasis of State and Central Government to provide skill-based education, the Governor of Maharashtra Hon’ble Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari visited Symbiosis Skills and Professional University located on Pune -Mumbai expressway at Kiwale, Pune to see the specialized skill training labs, Centers of Excellence set-up in collaboration with industries.
Dr. S. B. Mujumdar welcomed and felicitated the Hon’ble Governor and shared the success story of Symbiosis. Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor of the University made a presentation of the Vision, Mission, and the Pedagogy followed at SSPU and also shared the importance of Skill Education. Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SSPU shared the details of the sector-focused programs offered by the University.
The University has over 3000 students pursuing various sector-focused programs in Engineering, Management, Data Science, Architecture, and Beauty and wellness in which Annual Internships and End Term Placements are an integral part. The Governor applauded the success of the University in establishing strong industry tie-ups and in achieving 100% Internship and Placement every year. This record was maintained in spite of the challenges in the Covid-19 pandemic times. He appreciated the vision and efforts of Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor of the University, and Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor of the University in setting up this unique model of Skill University with global standards, in the State of Maharashtra that upholds the vision of our nation and develops the students to be resourceful from day one of their employment and contribute positively to the organization, society and the nation at large. He also applauded the training imparted to students in Entrepreneurship and in establishing start-up businesses. He interacted with the Program Directors and appreciated the quality of faculty in all programs, who have wide industry experience and academic excellence, which adds to the quality of Skill education and in making the students industry-ready.
