SSPU successfully conducted International HR Conclave
Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU), Kiwale in collaboration with National HRD Network, Pune Chapter conducted an International HR-Conclave on ‘Rebooting the Skills Revolution’ at SSPU campus on Saturday. During the event, Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) who have done exemplary work in their fields were conferred ‘Sym-Ratna’ and ‘Sym-Urja’ Awards in various categories.
Shrikant Sarda, MD, Accenture Technology was the chief guest of the event. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, SSPU presided over the function. Dr. Vishwanath Joshi, People Officer, Hexaware Technologies delivered the keynote address on topic ‘Learning to learn’.
Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor, SSPU shared the vision and mission of the skill varsity. She said, “Skill university is the new experiment in the field of education. We focus on 70 percent learning by doing. Actual skills are implemented in the start-ups. Recently, program director of Atal Innovation Centre met our first incubatee team from 3rd year Mechatronics who have initiated their start-up. We also had discussion about the setting up of Atal Incubation Community Center (AICC) for providing solutions to the community problems.” While talking about Sym-Ratna awards which were given to the CHROs who are Symbiosis alumni Dr. Swati Mujumdar said, “We are very glad that Symbiosis alumni are scaling new heights and we are happy to felicitate them for their achievements.”
Mr. Aman Rajbali, President, National HRD, Pune Chapter said that he is happy to collaborated with SPPU, “Dr. S. B. Mujumdar sir who is an icon in education sector praised the work of the National HRD network. NHRD also focuses on skill building, networking and dissemination of knowledge.” He asked students to make the most of the opportunities they are getting in the SSPU.
In his welcome address, Dr. S.B. Mujumdar thanked to NHRD to collaboration with SSPU, the unique university. “India has, 1000 universities, 50 thousand colleges and 3 crore students in higher education. If surveyed you will find that the SSPU is unique university. This is the only university is providing skill courses with different nomenclatures. Unemployment is major issue of India, industries and universities should come together to invest in the welfare for students and convert them into large assets and working force.”
Dr. S.B. Mujumdar felicitated Chief guest Mr. Shrikant Sarda. In his speech, Mr. Sarda spoke about culture of celebrating failures, he said, “We should have culture to celebrate failure. Failure gives you very good learning. How you drive the learning from failure it also helps to drive innovation culture. If don’t have innovation culture we will be always behind growth curve. New generation is comfortable with failures and learning from them. In earlier generations if you fail in something is not considered good.”
Later in the inaugural session, 14 Symbiosis alumni who are working in the field of Human Resources were felicitated with the Sym-Ratna awards for their exemplary work in the field.
While HR professionals who exceptionally contributed as Human Resource professionals to promote interdisciplinary skilling and innovation to produce a skilled and resilient future workforce for the nation were conferred Sym-Urja awards at the hands of the chief guest, Dr. S.B. Mujumdar and Dr. Swati Mujumdar.
