Maharashtra Government and Symbiosis Skills and Professional University Join hands for Successful Job Fair in Pune

Maharashtra’s Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Department, in collaboration with Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU), successfully organized the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Maharojgar Melava (JOB FAIR) at Symbiosis Bhavan, Model Colony, Pune today.

The esteemed event was inaugurated by Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor of SSPU, and was attended by distinguished personalities such as Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro Chancellor of SSPU; Mr. Sachin Jadhav, Assistant Commissioner at Maharashtra Government’s Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Department and Mr. Suraj Mahajan, Probationary Assistant Commissioner, Maharashtra Government’s Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Department; Dr. Shravan Kadvekar, Director of Symbiosis Centre for Corporate and Professional Learning, also graced the occasion with his presence.

In his inaugural address, Dr. S. B. Mujumdar stated, “India is passing through a historic period called demographic dividend. India has potential to transform its youth population into potential workforce, resulting India into being a more developed nation. On one hand, there are educated unemployed youth, and on the other, there are vacant positions in industries due to unskilled workforce. As a solution, the Indian government has focused on skill development, and the state government has followed suit. Symbiosis has significantly contributed by becoming the first university in Maharashtra to establish the Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, contributing to the development of employable workforce.”

Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro Chancellor, SSPU, welcomed the candidates and representatives of Maharashtra’s Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Department. She expressed her gratitude towards companies who participated in the recruitment drive. She emphasized, “We must organize more job fests because students securing jobs after their education serve as a key success metric for the education system. This joint initiative of a job fair is a small yet meaningful contribution to nation-building.”

Mr. Sachin Jadhav, Assistant Commissioner, commended the efforts of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) in collaborating for the Job Fair. He guided the candidates on the recruitment process and boosted their morale for the interviews. He stated that at this job fair both IT and manufacturing companies are well represented.

In the job fair around 20 companies including Tech Mahindra, Persistent System, Force Motors Ltd., Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, Jaihind Industries Pvt Ltd. Vserv Infosystem, GTL software ltd among others participated and over 1000 candidates came for the recruitment drive.
