Sanskruti Sawant
Engineering Expert, MES & Data Digitalization
Sanskruti Sawant – Engineering Expert, MES & Data Digitalization | V4SMART GmbH (Porsche–VARTA Joint Venture), Germany
After graduating from Symbiosis Skills & Professional University, my professional journey has been driven by a strong commitment to creating measurable industrial impact through innovation, cost-efficient engineering solutions, and leadership in digital transformation initiatives.
I began my career at Diehl, where I was entrusted with addressing a critical production quality inspection requirement. The conventional industry approach involved procuring an advanced Keyence camera-based inspection system—an investment that would have required significant external hardware and integration costs. Instead, I proposed and led the development of an in-house vision-based inspection solution using image processing techniques.
This internally engineered system successfully met production requirements and eliminated the need for third-party procurement, resulting in an estimated 60–70% cost saving compared to the planned external automation investment. Today, the solution continues to function effectively on the production floor, supporting quality assurance processes in real-time. This initiative was formally recognized by the organization’s leadership, and I will be attaching my reference letter from the CEO as supporting documentation.
Currently, I work as an Engineering Expert in MES & Data Digitalization at V4SMART GmbH, a joint venture between Porsche AG and VARTA AG in Germany. In this role, I contribute to the digitalization of battery cell manufacturing systems by supporting the implementation of intelligent monitoring platforms, real-time production dashboards, and data-driven decision-making frameworks across critical manufacturing lines. My work has played a role in enhancing operational transparency, improving response times to production issues, and strengthening continuous improvement initiatives within cross-functional teams.
Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am an active member of the global Women in Big Data community, advocating for increased representation of women in data and industrial AI domains. I also mentor aspiring engineers and am currently working toward expanding my contributions into research-driven innovation, with the goal of evolving into a future research expert in AI-enabled smart manufacturing systems.
My journey reflects SSPU’s vision of empowering skilled professionals to lead through innovation, sustainability, and real-world impact.
