The designer of the IIT Gandhinagar was describing his experience on Campus Design, he was describing his concept behind the design. He came up with the concept of no rear view. Students got much clarity to design Campus in terms of their academic designs.
Hands-on Workshop by Rajendra Yeolekar

To help students understand the structural concepts behind the tensile structures, a hands-on workshop was organized. Usability of materials like hard aluminum wire, foam board, stockings.

He visited the institute and spent a whole day with the students of SAUDP. The event started with interactive sessions with the SAUDP students in the department. He gave a few hands-on activities to the students. The event ended with a common lecture and sharing of his 50 years of works in architecture at the Auditorium of SSOU from 3 Pm. Enthusiastic students from other colleges also came and joined the interactive session.
3 Days Hands-on Workshop by Dr. Harimohan Pillai

The first day started with Conceptual foam board modular design for Exhibition Pavilion. Next, students work on a digital model for the same, and walkthrough was also an addition for the Pavilion in Sketch UP. By the end of 3 days’ workshop students became thorough with structural concept, Sociography, and Digital modeling aided with Walkthrough.

The literal meaning of ‘Kimaya’ is the ancient alchemy of distilling gold from simple metals – a process lost over centuries to mankind. ‘Kimaya’ is a partnership firm offering consultancy for various aspects like architecture, urban design, conservation, valuation, and interior design. Kimaya aims at balancing charity and profit, theory and practice, conservation and new build, tradition, and innovation, global and local perspectives. A lecture by him was taken to discuss a few of his remarkable works.

The site visit conducted for the 3rd year student for their understanding of Highly automated manufacturing facility. The project that was visited in Pune Urawade, and is a combination of rule and commercial which will be linked to another building across the road. A highly automated manufacturing facility spread over 100000 sq. feet is capable of end to end processing of acoustics panels of any shape, size, design, and color. In a house, the printing process can produce customized acoustic panels printed with any design of choice.

The site visit conducted for the 1st year student for their understanding of stone masonry, load-bearing structures, live sketching skills, basic study of the temple structure. And the Gram Sanskriti udyan helped them in understanding the different cultural social and trades of a Maharashtrian village.

The event will unleash multiple business opportunities to participate in as a result of shared know-how during the event. It will be an information hub of rapid developments in the industry and also a launch-pad for many new services and technologies in the Construction Industry.

India House is the corporate headquarters for Christopher Charles Benninger Architects Private Limited, and its subsidiaries in India and abroad. This modest complex sits on a small urban plot of one thousand square meters, accommodating studios in one building, an underground art gallery, guest accommodation, and a residence in another structure. These are linked together via a louvered pergola creating an open atrium. This study was followed by a small interaction with Ar. Christopher Charles Benninger himself.

‘ND Studios is a film and television production studio located in Karjat, Maharashtra a north suburb of Mumbai. Established in 2005, it is co-owned by Nitin Chandrakant Desai and Reliance Entertainment. Apart from films, it is also the location reality TV series, Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan. Over the years, it has also become a popular tourist destination, as it is 90-minutes’ drive from Pune, Maharashtra.

A retaining wall is a structure designed and constructed to resist the lateral pressure of soil when there is a desired change in ground elevation that exceeds the angle of repose of the soil. The same was studied directly on-site at Kiwale.

Site Visit : ISCKON Temple

The students of SSOU, SAUDP were taken to a site visit to the ISCKON Temple, Nigdi. The agenda for the visit was to understand the timber construction. The entire temple construction is done using timber. The students were divided into groups to study the structure. Few students worked on the site plan, few on materials used, and few on interiors, and the rest on the landscape. The students are also given an assignment of preparing ten sketches of the site.

The lecture comprised of Introduction to the company, the innovations by H&R Johnson, India, Marble and Quartz, The bath and Sanitary fittings, and Nobilia Kitchen. The lecture was very informative and helpful to the students of all three years.

The Webinar conducted by Ar. Rahul Kadam was a pretty interesting session, where he explained to the students about Site analysis. He covered vast areas of the topic, explaining how to analyze sites with different areas, what are the factors to keep in mind, and how to be sustainable and eco-friendly in one’s practices. At the end of the session, he also gave an assignment to the students which was to be completed in a time frame of 30 mins.
