We all are dealing with the threatening state of coronavirus. Clearly, this pandemic is dejected as being confined to our homes for such an extended period of time can cause boredom, stress and conflicts. Nevertheless, we all can keep our spirits up at this moment by treating this lockdown as an opportunity to do things we usually do not get time for. During this time, people should try to maintain their regular lifestyle and as students, a major part of our everyday routine is our classes. A lot of educational institutions have made the provision for online classes. Likewise, our university, SSPU, is providing us with the same. These online classes are giving us a semblance of our usual college schedule. We are provided with all the necessary study material and even assigned with timely submissions of all the subjects. Our faculty has been working immensely so that our syllabus doesn’t lag behind; they are taking online video classes to make sure of this. This way our education does not suffer. On the contrary, there are some drawbacks. In colleges we are provided with an environment where we are committed to learning with discipline. But when taking online classes at home there are fewer chances of creating such surroundings. Sometimes there are connectivity issues or students can even get distracted by occasional disturbances. There is no one physically present to invigilate us and teachers cannot analyze our mind and behavioral activities. However, because beauty and wellness is majorly a skill-based course we are still able to practice at home, for instance, we were given an assignment on creating a hairstyle by our own, and students were still able to conduct it because we have been taught that way. In a nutshell, studying online is altogether a different and a new experience with its own pros and cons and hopefully we all are realizing the value of things we usually used to take granted for. This (BSc in Beauty and Wellness) degree is very unique in itself as it provides Makeup, Hair, Skin and wellness vertical altogether and only Symbiosis Skills and Professional University is providing this unique kind of degree, here they mostly focused on the skills. The faculties also take the efforts to get internships according to the students specialized sector or their interests. And now during this pandemic of Corona virus which let us to the lock down……and home quarantine…… SSPU has organized Online lectures and Assignments so that the students could cope up with the syllabus and studies. They have also organized Online exams …… And As it’s a skill based University we are provided with videos and ideas to show our creativity and our skills so that we won’t lose our track and continue our work and the faculties are always ready to support and help the students out …… Thank you ?

I am Gaurang Saraswat student of Symbiosis Skills and Open University and I want to express my views about this new course BSc beauty and wellness which is specialized because of its unique design for getting skill in Beauty which includes Hair dressing and treatment , Skin therapies , Makeup & Cosmetology and Wellness which includes Nutrition and Food science as main stream.I personally finding this course very interesting as it make me to learn different subjects with course such as Customer Service and Relationship Management, Basics of Accounting, Digital Marketing , Salon and Spa management etc which will help me to grow my career in Beauty and Wellness industry and get desired job role in future .

My name is Richa Magavi and I am a 3rd year student of Bsc Beauty and Wellness. Ssou is the only course that offers beauty and wellness both together that is Beauty inside out. Bsc. Beauty and wellness is bifurcated into two verticals beauty and wellness, I belong to the beauty vertical.The curriculum focuses more on practical application rather than theory. Our beauty lab is well equipped and we have excellent trained faculty in every subject. This course makes learning more fun by providing internships as a part of curriculum. I’ve been an intern in BUTIC under Mrs. Maya Paranjapaye for two months. This course offers learning in a very creative way which I assure no other college provides. It also has a beautiful infrastructure which is icing on top & I’ve tons of memories here. I’m looking forward to learn more here & pursue CIDESCO. My dream is to open RICHA’S MEDI SPA and i see it coming.
