School of B. Tech Computer Engineering(Cyber Security) 5

The School of CSIT offers a B.Tech CSIT(Cyber Security) course of four years. We aim to persistently aspire to achieve excellence. We aim following objectives for our students. Students will be able to have a working knowledge of tools, techniques, and procedures to operate as a cyber security specialist/analyst independently or as a team member To further improve their skills, our students are also exposed to case studies, problem-based learning, brainstorming, written tests, computer simulation, group discussions, industrial training seminars, and projects. Our graduates are trained to be successfully placed in organizations specializing in the automobile industry, software solutions, products, and technology. Students will be able to understand and appreciate real-life cyber security challenges and apply critical thinking to find potential solutions. Students will be able to render unbiased and ethically sound professional advice to clients/teams. Students will be able to understand Industry-specific cybersecurity frameworks and operate within the legal and regulatory parameters. Students will provide sustainable solutions to multidisciplinary global problems through their research and innovation capabilities and use them to create entrepreneurship opportunities.

Cyber Attacks, threats, and data breaches have become a common phenomenon over the last few years. The digital world has blurred the geographical boundaries and the propagation of threats takes place at a warp speed today. As per the report, Real-Time Cyberthreat maps from (Fireeye, Checkpoint, Netscout), etc indicate that more than 75 million Cyber Attacks take place on a daily basis across the world with Education, Healthcare, Government, and ISP/MSP being the most targeted industries. India is the most targeted nation after the US and China, so we need to orchestrate and respond with the required skill set. A competent and efficient cybersecurity workforce is the need of the day.

As per the latest analysis by the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), the Indian cyber security industry would grow at a CAER of 21.6% to touch an annual revenue of Rs. 1 Lakh Crores by 2024, the year our first batch of CSIT(Cyber Security) students would enter the market. The School of CSIT will ensure that these students are “Industry Ready” in the true sense of the term before they appear for campus interviews. School of CSIT offers 84 credits out of 219 for cybersecurity-related subjects ranging from Governance, Risks, Compliance, Security, Engineering, Security Operation, Cyber Threat Intelligence, and so on. The syllabus has been designed in consultation with the cyber security experts from the Industry and is aligned to the latest trends, tools, and techniques being used in the cyber security domain.

Profile:

Bringing over two decades of multi-disciplinary experience across teaching, research,
and academic administration, I currently serve as Professor of CSIT and Program-in-Charge,
AI & ML at SSPU Pune. Previously, I have held key roles including Professor &
Officiating Principal at SRIEIT (Goa University), Associate Professor at AITD (Goa University),
MSRIT (VTU Karnataka), and SRIEIT, and Assistant Professor at Presidency University and BMSIT&M,
VTU (VTU Karnataka). I have led departments in IT and Computer Engineering, and chaired
significant institutional initiatives—most notably steering AITD through its first NAAC
accreditation in 2023.

A prolific researcher with 33 Scopus-indexed publications, I contribute regularly to
high-impact outlets including Elsevier, IEEE, Springer, and Begell House. My key research
domains include:
