Eligibility for B.Sc. Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics
Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals
- Passed 10+2 Examination in Science Stream with minimum 50% Marks for open category and 45% marks for Reserve category from the state of Maharashtra
- Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the selection process as set by SSPU. Selected Students will be granted for provisional admission.
- The final Merit list shall be prepared on the basis of their performance in the selection process as set by SSPU.
Eligibility Criteria for NRI / International Students
- A candidate who has completed 10+2 examination or equivalent in Science Stream and obtained minimum 50% from any Foreign Board must obtain an equivalent certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) (the application format is available on AIU website link: https://www.aiu.ac.in/documents/index/downloads/evaluation%20form.pdf
- All foreign qualifications need to be verified by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) by the candidate before seeking provisional admission
- Candidate passed in Personal interview conducted by the University.
- Scholastic Assessment test (SAT) scores are accepted

The students from the School of Data Science attended the Guest lecture on 2nd August 2019, over a current topic, “opportunities in Data Science, Robotics & Mechatronics”. The eminent guest for the event Mr. Sameer Ahirrao Patil spoke about the current job and research opportunities available in the field of Data Science and how it can be connected to current upcoming research areas in mechatronics and robotics. He motivated the students by providing them an insight over how Data Science can be incorporated into various other fields and add meaning to it.

Guest Lecture By J.P. Research
School of Data Science organised the guest lecture on 5th September,2019 over the topic, “Data collection and Data analysis tools”. The eminent speaker, Mr. Muddassan Patel of JP Research Pvt. Ltd discussed a solved case study giving more insight regarding the prime aspect of how industry work with respect to a problem statement and reach to a conclusion by drawing insights and information from the available data. The students learned the importance of data and how it can be manipulated in order to make it more meaningful. They also learned to minutely observe the various details and how it can be recorded as a Data.

Guest Lecture by Mr.Sudhin Baraokar on “Introduction to Machine Learning”
The School of Data Science organized a guest lecture on “Machine Learning” on 3rd October 2019. Mr.Baraokar gave a brief idea about the importance of Machine Learning and how it can be used in industry to solve various issues. He further discussed the statistics behind the Machine Learning and the working process behind these algorithms.
He further stressed the importance of statistics and its knowledge which stands as the backbone for a Data Scientist. The students were able to understand the thrust of statistics as background knowledge in the field of Data Science.

Guest Lecture by V. Rajendra Prasad
Symbiosis Skills and Professional University has organized a guest lecture on “Emerging Platforms in IoT-AI Robotics- Autonomous Drives” by V. Rajendra Prasad, Chief Executive- Quality Quest Engineers, Chennai on 11th February 2020 and school of retail management, “Guest Lecture by Mr. Babul Singh from Metro Cash and Carry”. V. Rajendra Prasad explained directions of optimization methods in various engineering and science applications, mainly IoT (Internet of Things), robotics and AI-based applications. Emphasis is given to deep learning and similar models of neural network-based learning techniques employed in solving optimization problems of different engineering and science applications. The role of AI in mechatronics is also highlighted using suitable optimization methods.

The School of Data Science organized a guest lecture talk on “practical application of Data Science in real-world scenario” on 04 March 2020. Dr. Preeti Pandu the eminent speaker of the event gave a brief idea about the various real-life existing examples that have been contributed by Data Scientists. She further spoke about how the visualization of Data can add value and make the data look appealing while conveying various information. She demonstrated the role of Data Scientists in various perspectives and its significance in various fields which inspired the students to a huge extent.

Mr. Sudarshan Mahabal, Sr.Manager/head of Analytics & Data Science in Cisco Security Business Group gave a webinar talk over the title: “Automate, or Get Automated: Career Predictions for the Next Decade” on 25/7/2020, Over the Zoom Platform. He spoke about how the field of AI started and emerged as the most upcoming area contributing to various futuristic industry and technology of the upcoming era.

Mr. Pankaj Ojha and Mr. Abhay Vyas graced the webinar conducted by the School of Data Science over the title “Ride the Data Science wave” to understand the oil and engine of the 21st century as panel experts on 29/7/2020 over the Zoom Platform.
Mr. Suraj Pandita, Data Analyst from Dataeaze Systems Pvt Ltd conducted a webinar titled “Behind the Scene of Big Data and Data Science” on 09/08/2020 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM, over the Zoom Platform. He provided exposure to the students over the concept of Big Data and Hadoop and its role in various giant companies like google, amazon, etc.

“Waste to Reuse” activity was organized by the School of IDSC, SSPU, Pune on 26th September 2019. All creatives like material storage bins, models from scrap wooden sheets, newspaper & posters from thrown/scraped foam sheets made from scrap and waste material available on the SSOPU campus.
