Welcome to Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)

B.Com shall deal with the basics of accounting, costing, customer relations, consumer behaviour and market challenges in the dynamic world and enhance the ability of professionals to overcome the complexities.

Our Program delivers conceptual and practical inputs with the fine blending of traditional and new age teaching andragogy. Besides classroom teaching, the blended learning approach covers the following:

Apart from the above, learning support is also provided through LMS, wherein, the Students are provided access to E-Content, E-Learning, Access to Digital Library.  

Program Objectives:

  • To give an insight and develop in the student higher order thinking skills in the area of accounting, economics, statistics through theory and application-based inputs and testing methodologies.
  • To develop effective business leaders in competitive environments who are well equipped with the knowledge.
  • To help participant pursue management positions in the corporate world.
  • To explain the basic concepts for the understanding of accounting, economics, organizational behaviour, ethics and governances.

 Learning Outcomes:

After completion of the program the student should be able to:

  • Finding and applying different sources of information such as budget, cost data to decision making
  • Choosing relevant models and methods for use in the organisations’ internal strategy work, including financial planning, facilitating, implementing and evaluating strategy processes.
  • Making analytical use of theoretical models and tools in work on practical issues in his / her respective organisation.
  • Presenting and discussing professional issues and analyses with employees, fellow managers and other parties he/she cooperates with.

 Skill Development

Project, Group Discussion, Assignments, Case Study are assigned to students as part of the learning and Skill Development. We also have Inter-Disciplinary Training Classes wherein the students are groomed to become professionals and adapt themselves from ‘CAMPUS to CORPORATE’.

  Evaluation Procedure

  • The Evaluation Scheme includes Formative Evaluation and Summative Evaluation
  • The questions formulated are based on the program/course objectives.
  • The questions are designed to test student’s knowledge, comprehension through factual and textual questions, application/analysis/synthesis/evaluation (based on Blooms Taxonomy) based questions.
  • The student’s views, opinions, power of expression, clarity of thought, application of knowledge and analytical ability are tested through ‘subjective questions.

Formative Evaluation The students have to submit Assignments for all the courses. As a compulsory academic component of curriculum, students are required to submit assessment in the form of Internal Assignments. The Formative Evaluation implemented is as follows –

Assessment in the form of Unit Tests, Quizzes, or Examination, course wise of 30 marks with 50% passing.

Summative Evaluation– The students attend the exams at the end of the semester. These exams are taken course wise separately.  Summative evaluations are of 70 marks with 50% passing.

Project Report– A student has to submit a project report as per the program requirement.

Eligibility and Duration

Eligibility: Passed XII or equivalent course through any recognized Board.
