BBA FinTech under the School of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) is a new Program offered by Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, Kiwale, Pune that ventures into the challenging arena of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance subjects with a special focus on the element of Technology that is being fast adopted in this sector. FinTech has literally changed our lives and habits by making it easy to trade, bank, and exchange money without the need for physical human interaction. The up-scaling of tasks and activities in the financial sector and growth of Technology due to automation and digitization in this field has given rise to the need for selective and trained personnel who will qualify to meet the industry demand through a formal education that grooms the individual to be resourceful from day one.

FinTech has literally changed our lives and habits by making it easy to trade, bank, and exchange money without the need for physical human interaction. The up-scaling of tasks and activities in the financial sector and growth of Technology due to automation and digitization in this field has given rise to the need for selective and trained personnel who will qualify to meet the industry demand through a formal education that grooms the individual to be resourceful from day one.
In 2019, the FinTech market in India was valued at over INR 1,920 billion and is projected to cross INR 6,207 billion by 2025, expanding at a CAGR of 22.7%, hence, FinTech is the new opportunity for students to explore an exciting career in Finance based organizations, by developing the skills in technologies like Blockchain, Chatbots, AI, Robo-advisors, Neobanks IoT, Big Data, API, Cloud Computing and RPA. This program will set the students at a higher pedestal and make it suitable for them to be absorbed by leading financial institutions which are transforming and making headway in their business activities.
The new era of Baking, Financial Services, and Insurance stands high on technological evolution and will shock the change-over that will be made by every organization. The Financial Environment will require great standards of accuracy, speed, analytics, options, and solutions that will craft the way forward for effective decisions and performance. The trend is changing into modification and adaptation of Technology in the field of Finance and this has given rise to the formal education in FinTech, which will groom and provide the talent and the personnel required to answer provide solutions to financial problems and challenges.
At Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, the students will be provided the best learning experience through Skill and Practical training as well as Internship programs, which will set them steps ahead of their competitors and be the first preference in any organization of repute. What is your program's duration?

B.Sc. (Data Science) – 3 Year Program. However, after each year there is an internship module of 8 credits. The detail of internship is as under

2 months after second semester (During First year)

2 months after Fourth semester (During Second year)

6 months after fifth semester (During third year)

M.Sc. (Data Science – 2-year program

What courses can I use to meet the program's prerequisites?

It could be better if you come with a basic background of below mentioned subjects/Domains.

Computer Programming:

  • Problem solving, analysis and design of small-scale computational systems, and implementation using a procedural programming language.
  • Python is the language most utilized in our program, however students are able to apply with backgrounds in other languages.

Statistics:

  • Parameter estimation, introduction to the collection of data, elements of probabilistic modelling, basic probability computation techniques, discrete and continuous random variables and distributions, expectation and variance, central limit theorem, single-parameter confidence interval estimation, and exposure to any statistical software package.

Calculus or Linear Algebra:

  • Calculus: single variable calculus, limits, derivatives and integrals of algebraic exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions play a central role, applications of differentiation, and fundamental theorem of calculus.

Linear Algebra: systems of linear equations, matrix algebra, linear transformations, and determinants.

Does M.Sc. (Data Science) have thesis component.

Yes, In the final year (4th semester) a thesis must be submitted along with one research paper published in web of science/Scopus indexed journal/conference.
