A Celebration of Dreams, Dedication, and Discovery — SSPU’s 6th Convocation
As a proud student of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU), I can feel the excitement buzzing through every corridor. The air is thick with anticipation, laughter, last-minute rehearsals, and the unmistakable energy that only a convocation day can bring. (check it out on Symbiverse Instagram). On 16th October 2025, SSPU will host its 6th Convocation Ceremony, and it promises to be nothing short of grand.
For the 755 graduates who will receive their degrees that day, it marks the end of one phase and the beginning of another. Every late-night assignment, group project, and coffee-fuelled brainstorming session has led to this moment. Watching them prepare to don their graduation robes, I can’t help but feel inspired — this is the culmination of years of hard work, persistence, and belief in oneself. This convocation isn’t special because of the crowd size — it’s because every grad walking out has the skills (and the nerve) to make something real.
And this year’s ceremony is all set to rise to new heights, quite literally. We’re honoured to welcome Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Defence Minister, Government of India, as our Chief Guest, and Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, as our Guest of Honour. Their presence adds immense prestige to the event, symbolizing the national recognition of SSPU’s mission — to create an ecosystem where skills meet purpose and education meets excellence.
As a student, it feels surreal to know that leaders who have shaped the nation’s policies and defence strategies will be standing on the same stage where our fellow students will receive their degrees. It’s more than a photo opportunity; it’s a reminder of what’s possible when education, leadership, and vision align.
The Spirit of Leadership
None of this would be possible without the guiding light of Prof. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, our esteemed President (Chancellor), and Dr. Swati Mujumdar, our inspiring Pro Chancellor. Their vision of education goes beyond classrooms and conventional learning. They believe in learning by doing — an idea that has made SSPU a pioneer in skill-based higher education.
Under their leadership, the university has not just grown in size and reputation but also in purpose. SSPU’s commitment to blending academic knowledge with industry relevance ensures that its graduates don’t just possess degrees — they possess direction. In a world where employability and adaptability are key, SSPU has carved its niche as a university that empowers its students to be both skilled professionals, budding entrepreneurs and thoughtful citizens.
A Landmark Moment: The Launch of the School of Defence & Aerospace Technology
While the convocation itself is a monumental event, this year holds an additional reason for pride — the launch of the School of Defence & Aerospace Technology (B.Tech).
India’s defence and aerospace sectors are at an exciting turning point, with innovation and self-reliance driving new possibilities. The establishment of this school at SSPU isn’t just timely — it’s visionary. It represents the university’s bold step into a future where students can actively contribute to national progress, design the next generation of technology, and take Indian engineering to global heights.
The new program will give students the opportunity to explore everything from aircraft systems and propulsion technologies to defence electronics and strategic design — blending scientific rigor with patriotic purpose. For those of us who dream of innovation that safeguards the nation, this school is the perfect launchpad.

Convocation days at SSPU have always been more than ceremonies. They’re festivals of achievement — a blend of emotion, reflection, and pure joy. Families arrive with pride shining in their eyes, faculty members stand tall watching their students succeed, and graduates beam with the satisfaction of an action-packed journey completed. It’s impossible not to feel the energy — it’s contagious!
For the graduates, this convocation is more than a formality — it’s the moment they officially stop paying tuition and start paying taxes. It’s the moment they transition from students to professionals, ready to take on challenges, lead industries, and create meaningful change. And for us who are still on campus, it’s motivation in its purest form — proof that hard work pays off and that our turn will come sooner than we think.

As the banners go up and the preparations reach their peak, I can’t help but feel proud — proud to belong to a university that believes in nurturing not just intellectuals, but innovators and problem-solvers. SSPU’s 6th Convocation isn’t just about grades and degrees; it’s about recognizing what actually got us here — hard work, a bit of chaos, and the grit to push through deadlines, detours, and doubt.

And as for me? I’ll be in the crowd, pretending I’m not already calculating how to survive senior year.
