The School of Data Science and CS & IT aims to persistently aspire to achieve excellence in computing disciplines. It is being followed in the computation of contemporary expectations across its range of academic programs. The main goal is to create future computer graduates, design and implement systems that include the convergence of software and hardware devices, employ creative approaches to programming and problem solving, create large-scale software systems, and build data/computing infrastructure for an organization.
The technology is new and the techniques of committing crimes are also new. It is no brainer that new approaches, practices, technology, and tools are also required to tackle such crimes from identification, prevention, and curation. The course design is intended to create skills within the students so that they can manage such circumstances efficiently and help the industry save billions of dollars.
Data Science is quite a popular field that has practical application in various domains including Academia, Business Sectors, R&D, and many more sectors which enables us to make effective decisions in day-to-day activities. B.Sc in Data Science course aims to provide an opportunity for all students to master the skill sets specific to Data Science with a research bent. The curriculum supports the students to obtain adequate knowledge in the theoretical aspects with hands-on experience in relevant domains and tools. However, this data is useless unless we can draw meaningful insights and use it for business and predictive analytics. Data Science which is an interdisciplinary field that uses multiple scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and systems in order to extract valuable information, knowledge, etc, has become the pathway to employment and research opportunities across the World.

Winner of Smart India Hackathon

The Students from B.Sc. Data Science participated in Smart India Hackathon 2020 (Software Edition) which took place on online mode from 1st to 3rd August 2020. Smart India Hackathon 2020 is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving. In SIH 2020, the students had the opportunity to work on challenges faced within various Ministries, Departments, Industries, PSUs, and NGOs to create world-class solutions for some of the top organizations including industries in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds from across the nation.

Titled ” ANALYSIS OF IOT BASED WEATHER MONITORING USING FUZZY LOGIC” Anand Nayyar, Christo Ananth, Bandana Mahapatra.
The highlights of the patents
The reason that every family member will be employed and busy, the health monitoring of elderly people and patients has become very crucial. In the proposed methodology caretakers can get information on the temperature and the pulse rate of the people being monitored at home on a real-time basis. Users can also get information about the air quality in the home so that the system can generate an alarm if any hazardous gas is detected. Here further a fuzzy logic approach for real-time monitoring and analysis of the data collected from the temperature sensor, Heartbeat sensor, and Gas sensor has been implemented. Based on the trained data and the collected data from the sensors outliers will be detected. The collected data sent to the cloud can be downloaded using the Thing speak platform.

Title: A WEARABLE ELECTRO ACUPUNCTURE DEVICE FOR COVID TREATMENT AND ITS METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure seeks a method and a wearable electro-acupuncture device to apply pressure on three main pressure points in the patient’s hand and forearm to increase oxygen percentage in the blood and to increase the immunity of the patient in order to recover quickly from COVID19.
In an embodiment, an electroacupuncture device for COVID treatment is disclosed. The device includes a glove body worn on the hand of a wearer, wherein the glove body is having a dorsal side and a palm side. The device further includes an air pump configured to the dorsal side of the glove body for inflating the glove body with air. The device further includes at least three metallic cones positioned near three acupuncture points to apply pressure on the acupuncture points upon inflating the glove body, thus relieving the person of COVID symptoms. The device further includes a vibrator embodied in the glove body for massaging on the hand of the wearer to relieve COVID symptoms.
